Southole Barns were built over 150 years ago by Hartland monks and recently painstakingly & beautifully refurbished to form a courtyard of four exclusive, high quality, tastefully appointed and comfortable self-catering barn conversions. The courtyard is a magnificent cobbled and paved centre piece, filled with flower beds and borders.
The Barns stands within 2 acres of gardens and adjoining meadowland with a beautiful stream-fed pond attracting amazing wildlife. The courtyard garden with alfresco dining area is the ideal place to unwind to the sounds & sights of nature and watch the sun set, or explore the garden and find your own favourite spot.
We do have wifi in our barns, except for Smudgers, but the connection is unreliable due to our rural position-this is a place for nature lovers not screen lovers and part of it's charm is that you can escape. When it works you should be fine to email and check your social media but you won't be having Zoom meetings and running Westminster from here! We know this can be a pain so we are upfront about this downside of rural living but many of our guests just love that they can genuinely get away from it all.
